Girls Swimming Places 2nd at Sectional

On Saturday the Jeff girl’s finished second to Floyd Central at the swimming and diving sectional.  This was the highest finish for the girls in several years.

The 200 Medley Relay team of Elizabeth Browne, Sam Glover, Kali Crace and Jacqueline Richard opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay, earning them a spot at this week’s IHSAA State Championship.

While the medley relay was the only championship on the day, the girls had numerous final swims including:

Amelia Blankenbeker – 3rd in the 200 and 500 Frees.

Amber Leininger – 4th in the 200 Free and 2nd in the 500 Free.

Adeline Dixon – 3rd in the 200 IM and 6th in the 100 Back.

Sam Glover – 5th in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 Breast.

Jacqueline Richard – 4th in the 50 Free and 3rd in the 100 Free.

Elizabeth Browne – 7th in the 50 Free and 5th in the 100 Free.

Kali Crace – 3rd in the 100 Fly and 4th in the 100 Back.

Yanna Martin – 5th in the 100 Fly and 7th in the 100 Breast.

Erica Romans – 7th in diving.

Lauren Kessinger – 2nd in diving.

Olivia Lopez – 15th in the 200 IM.

Jasmine Pate – 13th in the 50 Free.

Bailey Joiner – 14th in the 500 Free.

Lauren Kessinger’s 2nd place in diving was enough to advance her to the diving regional Tuesday night.
