Girls Swimming Dominates New Albany Relays

New Albany Relay Champions

On Tuesday the Jeffersonville Lady Devil swim team competed in the New Albany Relays.  At the end of the night the girls had broken 5 meet records.  The first record to fall was event #2, the 800 yard freestyle relay (8:11.14) breaking their own record set in 2014 (8:13.92).  The second record breaking swim was event #3, the 400 yard medley relay.  The girls overtook Floyd Central on the final leg of the swim setting a new record (4:22.24) breaking their own record set in 2013 (4:24.60).  The girls won the next event in the 100 yard freestyle relay with a time of 50.89 seconds.  The girls continued their winning ways by winning event #6, the 200 yard butterfly relay with a time of 1:54.32.

The third meet record fell with event #7, the 250 yard freestyle “crescendo” relay.  The girls set the new record with a time of (2:15.95) breaking the previous record of (2:17.30) by Floyd Central in 2012.  The fourth record breaking swim was event #9, the 200 yard breaststroke relay, with a time of (2:16.75) breaking their own record of (2:16.89) from 2013.  The final record fell in the final event of the night, event #10, the 200 yard freestyle relay.  The girls set the record with a time of (1:42.19) breaking Floyd Central’s time of (1:42.60) from 2013.
