Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Red Devils Swimmer’s have strong opening to season

This past weekend was a big weekend for the Red Devil Swimming and Diving teams.  On Saturday the girl’s team traveled to the Tell City Relay meet and recorded their highest finish in school history with a 2nd place to top ten state ranked Castle.  The girls finished 2nd in 7 of the 10 relays and finished 3rd in the other 3.

Leading the Red Devils with top finishes were – Karlee Demsey in the Medley, Fly and 400 Free relays.  Sam Glover in the Medley, Stroke and Breaststroke relays.  Kali Crace in the Medley, 200 Free, Fly and 1000 Free relays.  Jacqueline Richard in the Medley, 200 Free, Stroke and 400 Free Relays.  Yanna Martin in the 250 Free, IM, 1000 Free and Breaststroke relays.  Amber Leininger in the 250 Free and 1000 Free relays.  Elizabeth Browne in the 250 Free, 200 Free, Stroke and 400 Free relays.  Amelia Blankenbeker in the 250 Free, 200 Free, stroke and 400 Free Relays.  Adeline Dixon in the Fly, 1000 Free and Breaststroke relays.

The girls travel to New Albany tomorrow for the New Albany relay meet.

Several of our Jeff Boy swimmers traveled to Minnesota for the Arena Grand Prix where they competed with and against over 20 American and International Olympians.  College teams included the University of Minnesota, Purdue University and the University of Florida.  Professional swimmers from all over the world and the top high school swimmers from across the country were at the meet as well.

T Martin and Evan Shive both competed individually.  T finished in the tip 50 in several of his events with his best finish of 47th in the 50 Free and 50th in the 500 Free.  Evan was 44th in the 100 Back and 51st in the 100 Fly.  Zach Griffis, Tyler Sariscsany and Kevin Gast rounded out the relays with T and Evan.  The 400 Free Relay finished 19th, the 400 Medley finished 19th and the 800 Free Relay finished 16th.
