Coed Junior Varsity Wrestling, Coed Varsity Wrestling · Red Devil Wrestlers 3-2 at Day 1 of Madison; Beat Howe 76-0

Day one of the 12 team Madison Cub Classic went by today with the Red Devil wrestlers going 3-2 and 3 wrestlers staying undefeated on the day.  The Jeff High wrestling team has been competing in one of the most grueling schedules in the state this season (and always), and today showed some signs of the state power they can by by not just going 3-2 in varsity competition, but at the same time hosting a JV competition at JHS and wining that 12 team JV tournament.

“It has been a tough season, but a friend of mine said to me once ‘tough times don’t last, tough people do’, our kids and our coaching staff are determined we will stay on track to be the program we have been for the past decade.  Today we say a lot of good things in two of our new comers to varsity with Josh Sauer and Chase Thompson both going 5-0 on the day.  Gavan Jolley-Little has stayed undefeated going 5-0 on the day.  Stevie jones and Geary Gaines went 4-1 on the day, and 4 other wrestlers (Taivon, David Pulliam, Devyn Long and Kevin Cain) all went 3-2 on the day.  We go back tomorrow for 5 more matches, the boys will be ready to improve once again.  It was nice to get an update that our JV team won a twelve team tourney, it uplifts the varsity knowing the program is on the right track.”

Today the JHS wrestling team wrestled 5 matches going 3-2.
