JEFFERSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL TO HOST 2015-16 GIRLS SEMI STATE TOURNAMENT
Jeffersonville, Ind.— For the second time in as many years, Jeffersonville High School will play host to the 41st Annual IHSAA Semi State girls basketball tournament on Feb. 20. Jeffersonville will join Richmond as the Southern Hosts, with Crown Point and Carroll (Fort Wayne) being named the Northern Hosts.
Four teams will be participating in the tournament at JHS, with the teams being made up of 1A and 3A schools. In the opening Class 1A game, Jac-Cen-Del (25-1) will face off against Vincennes Rivet (25-3). Tipoff for that game will take place at 4 p.m.
Jac-Cen-Del earned a trip after defeating Tindley, 66-47, in the Southwestern bracket. Vincennes Rivet upended Springs Valley, 52-31, in the Springs Valley bracket.
Following the Class 1A game, Lebanon (22-6) will square off against North Harrison (27-2) in the Class 3A semi state game at 6 p.m.
Lebanon defeated Indian Creek, 47-39, in the Danville Community bracket to move on, while North Harrison beat Evansville Memorial, 40-31.
The winners of both of these match-ups will square off in the state championship, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Doors will open at 2:45 p.m., with semi state tickets costing $8 for both games.
