While the overall team results weren’t as high as they might have hoped, three Red Devils runners were honored with Hoosier Hills Conference awards.
JHS’ Kyle Sanders and Brennan Schansberg, as well as Haley Nichols, earned HHC Honorable Mention during their conference meet.
As for the teams, the boys finished in fifth position with 109 points. Jennings County won the event with a score of 26. For the girls, the Red Devils finished in sixth place, 13 points behind fifth-place Madison. Floyd Central won the girls side with a score of 19.
From here, both teams will compete in the Crawford County Sectional on Saturday, Oct. 7. The top 10 individuals from non‐advancing teams, and the first five qualifying teams from each Sectional, will advance to the Regional competition. The combined meet is expected to start at 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., respectively.
If fans would like to root on the Red Devils, tickets will be available for $5.
