The ninth-ranked team in the state continues to add notches to their belt.
After picking up a 65-26 win over conference foe Madison on Friday night, the Red Devils were near mirror images of themselves on Saturday night, notching a 65-25 win over Floyd Central. The victories bring Jeffersonville’s overall record to 6-2, including 3-1 in Hoosier Hills Conference play.
In Friday’s game, a balanced attack helped the Jeffersonville girls basketball team hold Madison to just 12 first half point. Tori Handley and Nan Garcia led the team with 12 points, while Jasmine Lilly contributed 10 of her own. Jacinta Gibson and Britney Epperson added eight each in the road victory.
The Red Devils followed up that performance with a 65-25 road win over rival Floyd Central. The team forced the Highlanders into 33 turnovers during the match-up, with JHS holding a 41-5 halftime lead. Handley led all scores with 17 points. Garcia added 13, and Kelsie James contributed 10.
The girls will be back in action on Dec. 7 at home against Sacred Heart Academy. The JV game will being at 6:00 p.m., with the Varsity taking place at 7:30 p.m.
