November 12, 2025 – Jeffersonville, IN — The Jeffersonville Girls Basketball team earned a hard-fought 53–44 victory over Jasper on Tuesday night, showcasing a balanced team effort led by both veteran leadership and strong contributions from underclassmen. Senior guard Kelis Dansby led the way for the Red Devils, turning in an all-around performance with 14 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. Dansby’s steady play and leadership on both ends of the court helped guide Jeffersonville through key stretches of the game. Fellow senior Maizy Smith made her presence felt inside, finishing with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Smith’s rebounding and toughness around the rim proved critical as Jeffersonville maintained control of the tempo. The Red Devils also benefited from the energy and production of their talented sophomore class. Marlee Williams contributed 7 points and 8 rebounds, bringing hustle and grit to the lineup, while Lorelei Darling added 10 points, providing timely scoring that got Jeffersonville going after being down 8-0. Head Coach Taylor Sykes praised the team’s collective effort, noting the strong chemistry and balance on display. “We’re proud of how everyone stepped up tonight, especially filling roles of some injuries we have,” the coach said. “It was a great team win against a solid opponent.” With the victory, Jeffersonville continues to build early-season momentum and confidence. The Red Devils will be back in action on Saturday, traveling to Carmel High School to take on the Greyhounds in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
