Jeffersonville Wrestling – Day One Recap The young Red Devil squad showed tremendous fight throughout day one of the duals. In the opener against top-ten ranked Floyd Central, Jeffersonville battled through every position and never backed down. Despite the overall score, the team continued to scrap hard, highlight­ing the resilience of this developing roster. Chandler Cooke earned the lone Red Devil victory in the dual with a strong finish at 215. Jeffersonville’s grit was on full display in the second dual of the night against Madison. The two teams traded momentum all the way to a 42–42 tie, forcing the result to criteria. It went all the way to the 9th tiebreaker, where Jeffersonville claimed the victory on most near falls. The following Red Devils picked up wins to secure the team triumph: Kyree Turvey (106) Timothy Wilkins (113 – forfeit) Elijah Lahrman (138 – forfeit) Rodolfo Olvera (144) Jak Rose (175) Michael Sunkett (190) James Dyer (285) Tomorrow the Red Devils head into day two with a demanding lineup of duals, squaring off against Jennings County, East Central, Columbus East, Mt. Vernon Posey, and Heritage Hills. With Floyd Central, Heritage Hills, and Columbus East all ranked in the state’s top ten, it will be a tough and highly competitive day for every team. Jeffersonville’s effort and fight today show they’re ready for the challenge. The varsity B is at Oldham County, and our Girls go to the Hoosier Hills Conference championships!
