Aug 26th, 2023 It would have been impossible to play football Friday night much less honor a Jeff Red Devil great due to thunder storms. So moving the varsity football game from Friday night to Saturday night turned out to be the best move, and boy what a move it was. It gave Jeffersonville High School a chance to honor one the Red Devil greats, Coach Bill Ware. On Saturday night Red Devil football alumni turned out in full force to honor their former head coach. Men from many different Jeff Red Devil football teams were in attendance has Coach Bill Ware officially had his day as the football field was named after him, Bill Ware Field. The evening started off as many former players, coaches, friends and colleagues gathered under a hospitality tent and reminisced, shared hugs and handshakes. As the dedication was to begin those very same former player, coaches, friends and colleagues along with Coach Ware's family followed him onto the field where he was honored. It was a great night had by all honoring such a great man.
