COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA – The standard of excellence for junior college women’s wrestling remains firmly planted in Ottumwa. This past weekend, the Indian Hills Community College Warriors captured their sixth consecutive national crown at the 2026 NJCAA Women’s Wrestling National Invitational. Leading the charge for the Warriors was freshman standout Kaylea Beauchamp, a freshman from Jeffersonville High School, whose performance on the mat helped propel the team to a dominant 229.0-point finish. Entering the 131-pound bracket as the No. 3 seed, the Jeffersonville, Indiana native proved why she was one of the most highly recruited prospects in the country. Beauchamp’s road to the podium was defined by composure and technical precision: The Quarterfinals: Beauchamp fended off a late surge from No. 10 Cieanna Ficken (Hawkeye) to secure a 7-4 decision. The Semifinals: In a statement match, she dominated No. 9 Jessica Williams (Umpqua) to punch her ticket to the big stage. The Finals: In a clash of titans, Beauchamp faced top-seeded Bella Ngo. While she ultimately fell in a hard-fought decision to take home the National Runner-Up trophy, her performance earned her All-American status in her true freshman season.
