On Friday night, the Red Devils boys tennis team captured their 16th straight sectional title defeating New Albany by a score of 4-1. The score does not tell the whole story of the match. This was a match that we were very close to losing 3-2. New Albany came to play and almost took home the win. Teddy Burnette and Matthew Lowe kicked off the night with two convincing 6-0, 6-0 wins. Next New Albany took a very up and down match 6-4, 6-3. With both remaining matches entering third sets, Jeff #1 doubles team of Ryan Crawford and Javier Gomez clinched the championship with a 7-6 third set win. Soon after Eli Cochrum capped off the night winning 6-1 in his third set. The Red Devils compete in the regional tournament on Tuesday at Mark Reilly Tennis Center at 6pm.
