The Lady Devils traveled to Center Grove for the Carol Tumey Tournament Friday December 29th. The Lady Devils fell to host Center Grove 72-24. Makenzie Mason led the devils with 8 points. Other scorers included Elle Marble (6 points), Lakyra Johnson (4 points), Keziah Renee’ (4 points), and Amiya Calloway (2 points). In the Consolation game the Lady Devils faced Warsaw. The Lady Devils had a great start leading 17-9 after the 1st. Momentum continuing for the Lady Devils in the second quarter they led 29-16 at the half. Coming out of halftime the Lady Devils knew Warsaw wasn’t a team who was going to give up. Still being able to outscore them 18-14 in the third quarter allowed the Devils to have a good lead to start the fourth. The Lady Devils were outscored in the fourth 19-14, but still captured the win on the road with the final score 61-49. Leading scorer for the Red Devils was Elle Marble with 18 points, followed by Lakyra Johnson who had 15. Still in double digits were Keziah Renee’ and Makenzie Mason who had 12 points a piece. Kiya Boatwright also had 4 points for the Lady Devils. Senior Elle Marble was announced all tournament team at the end of the game. Lady Devils will be back at Johnson Arena on January 6th to Celebrate Senior Night. JV is at 11:30 Varsity to Follow.
