March 13, 2024 - The Red Devils had their first on track action this evening in New Albany at the Hoosier South Relays. No team scores are kept in this season opening shake down. Six running events and field events provide an opportunity to see where the team stacks up early in the season. The Red Devils had some outstanding performances this evening highlighted by Junior Nizaiah Carr placing 1st overall in the 100M dash with a time of 11.11. Junior Mariah Smith posted a time of 13.09 in the girls 100M dash, also finishing 1st overall. Other performances of note: Junior KeiAsia Camp 2nd overall in the 100 hurdles (18.77) Junior Kaylea Beauchamp had a PR in the shot put of 32' 2.50" finishing 4th overall Freshman Emma Perissi 10th overall in the 100M dash (13.93) Freshman Malachi Starks 9th overall in the 100M dash (11.76) Sophomore Jacob Lantrip 10th overall in the 100M dash (11.87) Senior Jeremiah Lane stepped in as an alternate on the 4 x 400 team and ran a blistering first split of 52.71 seconds. A smaller group of Red Devils will head to Anderson Saturday to attempt to qualify for the Indoor State Finals in Indianapolis on March 23.
