March 23, 2024 - Lyric Steele became the first Red Devil to bring home a track and field state championship since 2010. Lyric entered the day as the #1 seed in the 60M dash with a time of 7.63 seconds. She eclipsed that mark in the prelims, running a 7.51 securing her spot in the finals. A little over an hour later, Lyric got in the blocks again and ran even faster at 7.50 to claim the state championship and her spot at the top of the podium in Falls Creek Pavillion.
