For over two decades, Jeffersonville High School has been a trailblazer in girls’ wrestling in Indiana. Even before the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) sanctioned girls’ wrestling, Jeffersonville’s commitment to developing female wrestlers led to impressive success. With multiple state champions, national All-Americans, and academic accolades, the Red Devils have established themselves as leaders in the sport. A History of Champions Jeffersonville’s success on the mat speaks for itself. The program boasts three Indiana High School Girls Wrestling Association (IHSGWA) state champions—Camyle Cain and two-time champion Chrissy True. Their dedication and hard work helped to elevate the visibility of girls’ wrestling not only at Jeffersonville but also across the state. Nationally, Jeffersonville has produced multiple Fargo All-Americans, with Becky Cissel and Jasmine Fuller earning honors at one of the most competitive tournaments in the country. Their achievements on the national stage highlight the caliber of talent that Jeffersonville continues to nurture. Academic Success On and Off the Mat Jeffersonville’s focus on excellence extends beyond wrestling. For years, the program has emphasized academic achievement, with many of its athletes earning Academic All-State honors. This commitment to education and athletics has created a culture of well-rounded success, proving that these athletes excel both on the mat and in the classroom. Current and Future Stars The future looks bright for Jeffersonville as they enter the first season of IHSAA-sanctioned girls’ wrestling. Returning state qualifiers Abby Lemon and Kaylea Beauchamp will be key competitors to watch, and Aubrey Cummings is expected to make a significant impact, with potential to be state-ranked this year. Jeffersonville is also proud to see three of its alumni competing at the collegiate level: Sian Rogers at Manchester University, Natalia Carillo in Illinois, and Chrissy True at McKendree University. These athletes represent the lasting impact of the program and serve as role models for current and future Jeffersonville wrestlers. Join the Legacy As Jeffersonville enters this new era of IHSAA-sanctioned girls’ wrestling, the program is eager to grow and welcome even more female athletes into its ranks. With a tradition of state champions, All-Americans, academic success, and collegiate athletes, Jeffersonville is the place for girls who want to challenge themselves, compete at a high level, and become part of a winning legacy. “We want more girls to wrestle with us!” says the coaching staff, calling on young athletes to join a program that values hard work, dedication, and excellence on and off the mat. The opportunity is greater than ever, and the support system is in place for the next generation of Jeffersonville girls’ wrestlers to continue making history.
