Our boys soccer team advances to the sectional final in thrilling fashion against rivals Floyd Central. The final score was 4 to 3 with a goal line clearance in the dying seconds to secure the boys soccer program's 2nd win in 10 years against the Highlanders. Floyd opened the scoring within the first 8 minutes of the match. Shlomo Tshimbalanga tied the game up 10 minutes later off a cross from Bryan Juarez. The first half ended all square at 2 to 2 as each team gave away a penalty. Carter Williams scored Jeff's. The Red Devils jumped out on the front foot in the second half. Williams converted his second penalty 4 minutes into the 2nd half. Elijah Cheeks put the Red Devils up to off a defense mistake by Floyd 4 minutes later. They nearly let the game slip away as Floyd scored with 3 minutes left in the game and then hit the post with only seconds remaining before being cleared off the line.
