Red Devils win Home Opener

The Jeffersonville Lady Red Devils kicked off their home opener against Jasper. Jasper jumped out to an early lead leading 9-2, shots were not falling for the Lady Red Devils. 6 of their 11 first quarter points came from the free throw line. Trailing by 6 to end the 1st quarter the Lady Devils were able to make a run in the second. Outscoring Jasper 20-10 and taking a lead 31-27 going into halftime. The Lady Devils really turned it up in the second half. Taylor and Dansby scoring a combined 20 in the 3rd quarter, the Devils led 50-45 at the end of the 3rd. Defense was a key in the second half, the fourth quarter the Devils out scored the Wildcats 21-10. The Lady Devils opened their home season with both JV and Varsity winnings. The Lady Devils were led by Junior Kelis Dansby who had 26 and Freshman Makenna Taylor with 25 (21 coming from 3’s). Other scorers included Makenzie Mason(10 points), Kiya Boatwright (4 points), Alyviah Redd (3 points), Maizy Smith (2 points), and Katie Lawrence (1 point). The Lady Red Devils are back on the Road Saturday November 16th where they will play Warren Central. JV tipoff is at 3:00 PM Varsity to follow.
