Jeffersonvilleq Red Devils Dominate Fern Creek Gladiator Tournament for Second Year in a Row The Jeffersonville Red Devils wrestling team achieved an impressive feat for the second consecutive year by winning both the dual division on Friday and the 24-team individually scored tournament on Saturday at the Fern Creek Gladiator Tournament. Despite not being seeded to win either competition, the team rose to the occasion, demonstrating resilience and skill to claim both titles. Head Coach Danny Struck expressed immense pride in the team’s performance. “The number of wrestlers who stepped up this weekend was outstanding,” Struck said. “Ben Land’s come-from-behind victory in the championship was a highlight, as was the progress made by Elijah Snow and Isa Santos in reaching the finals. This tournament is great preparation for the sectional and conference seasons.” Several young and first-year varsity wrestlers made significant contributions. Wrestlers like Tim Wilkins (106 lbs.), Will Honecker (113 lbs.), Larry Sherman (215 lbs.), Elijah Lahrman (126 lbs.), and freshman Jaylen Howard (157 lbs.) had strong performances. Additionally, Quintin Smith, Adrian Carrillo, and Siyour Miniggia had outstanding tournaments, balancing the challenges of a tough competition with family commitments during the holiday season.
