Shawn Boyd - Named the Arthur L. Trester IHSAA Mental Attitude Award Winner at State Finals

On Saturday night, March 29th, 2025 following the thrilling overtime win by his team at the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Finals, senior Shawn Boyd was named the winner of the coveted Arthur L. Trester IHSAA Mental Attitude Award! Nominees for the award must meet the following criteria: 1. Be a student in grade 12. 2. Be nominated by the principal and coach. 3. Excel in mental attitude, athletic ability, scholarship and leadership during the four years in high school. 4. Be a state finalist participant in the sport nominated. 5. Be selected by members of the IHSAA Executive Committee. 6. Meet minimum academic requirements of one of the following: a. S.A.T. of 1000 (Verbal & Math scores only) or; b. A.C.T. of 21 or; c. Class rank in top 25%. Boyd, who will continue his academic and basketball career at Hanover College, is the epitome of what a student/athlete is. Excelling in the classroom, on the court, in the locker room as a teammate and in the community. Congratulations to Shawn Boyd on helping his team earn and win a State Championship and for being named the Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award winner. He is more than deserving!
