Seniors Shine on Senior Night

Jeffersonville varsity red Devils’ star player, Senior Abigail Perissi, was the MVP of the game against Madison. Senior Abigail Perissi collected three hits in three at bats, as the Lady RedDevils defeated Madison 8-3 on Tuesday. Perissi doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. Jeffersonville opened the scoring in the first after Perissi singled, scoring one run. Nicholson singled down the right field line, which helped Madison tie the game at one in the top of the second. The RedDevils took the lead in the bottom of the third. Layla Anderson homered to center field, scoring two runs, to give Jeffersonville the upper hand, 3-1. Three more Jeffersonville Varsity Lady RedDevils runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 6-1. Senior, Ally Young homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Senior Destiny Martin singled, scoring one run. Senior Emma Borders earned the win for Jeffersonville Varsity RedDevils. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Armbrecht opened the game for Madison. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out 10 and walking five. Freshman Loralei Mashburn collected two hits for Jeffersonville Varsity RedDevil in three at bats. Anderson paced Jeffersonville Varsity RedDevil with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game. Perissi and Mashburn each stole multiple bases for Lady RedDevils. Jeffersonville stole seven bases in the game and turned one double play in the game. We are back in action on Friday against conference rival, Seymour.
