Heading into Monday nights match up with Floyd Central, there were a lot of questions still to be answered for the men's volleyball team. In the previous three seasons Jeff had been unsuccessful to find the win column against their rivals from on top of the hill, 0-6 all time. But this year was different. The team set a schedule before them to accomplish a lot of goals for the first year of IHSAA sanctioned play. Jeff had won 10 straight heading into the match-up Monday Night. Juniors Anthony Ganchuluun and Joel Ramirez entered the match ranked 4 and 8 respectfully in kills in the IHSAA, along with that Ramirez was 4th in aces and followed by Ganchuluun in 5th in the state. Setter Jordan Rodgers was 4th in the state in assists coming into the match. Libero Malachi Crowder was fourth in the state in digs. After a shaky start to the match the fellas regrouped, understood the assignment, and went on to erase the previous three years of frustration. They extended their win streak to 11 matches, defeated Floyd Central for the first time in program history, became the first Hoosier Hills Conference Champions of the new IHSAA era, and improved their season record to an all-time program best 25-5. Scores: Jeff Defeats Floyd Central 3-1 22-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-20 Stats of Note: Ganchuluun: 18 KILLS, 5 aces, 2.40 passer rating, 12 digs Ramirez: 22 KILLS, 6 digs Rodgers: 39 assist, 5 total blocks, 8 digs Crowder: 24 Digs, 2.09 passer rating, 3 aces Martinez: 7 digs, 3 aces Lott: 7 total blocks, 5 KILLS Whobrey: 4 total blocks Enjoy the highlights from the match by using this link: http://www.hudl.com/v/2S8xTd
