Thursday April 13, 2023 - The boys and girls track teams took young squads over to New Albany tonight for the New Albany Relays and both came home with 8th place finishes. There were several bright spots for the Devils in tonight's meet. On the boys side, freshman Ari Santos-Moore got a personal best in the mile at 5:02.50, followed by fellow freshman Larry Lucio at 5:05.90. Another surprise also happened in the mile with Sania McClain knocking more than 20 seconds off her previous best and finishing at 6:05.90. Arielle Phillips (15' 10.25") and Mariah Smith (16' 0.75") combined combined for a total of 31' 11" in the long jump, good enough for 1st place in the event. Arielle and Mariah will be joined tomorrow by Jeremiah Brown, Kyon Stephenson, Nizaiah Carr, Lazarus Weobong, Dakota Sims, KeiAsia Camp and Marly Jones as they head north to Lafayette to compete in the Sprinters Showcase event.
