Comeback falls short as Red Devils drop 4-3 decision to Corydon

Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils fought back after falling down by four runs in the seventh inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 4-3 defeat to Corydon on Saturday. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils scored three runs in the failed comeback on a sacrifice fly by Caiden White and a double by Ethan Durbin. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils couldn't keep up with Corydon early in the game. Corydon took the lead on a fielder's choice in the first inning. Corydon got on the board in the first inning. Taylor hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils notched three runs in the seventh inning. White and Durbin powered the big inning with RBIs. Baty was the winning pitcher for Corydon. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while walking one. Hunter Flowers was on the mound for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The hurler surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tallied seven hits in the game. Jaret Phillips and Jaden Hart all had multiple hits for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Hart and Phillips each managed two hits to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Corydon racked up eight hits on the day. Flower, Edwards, and C Smith each managed multiple hits for Corydon.
