Red Devils Walk it Off in the Eight

Tuesday, May 9 Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils stole the lead late and defeated Jennings County Varsity Panthers 3-2 on Monday. The game was tied at one with Jennings County Varsity Panthers batting in the top of the eighth when Austin Byford singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils pitchers struck out ten, while Jennings County Varsity Panthers pitchers sat down eight. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils got things started in the second inning. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils scored one run when Dakota Pitman singled. Brett Denby got the win for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking zero. Logan Bingham started the game for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The pitcher went eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking zero Caiden White, Pitman, Denby, Aidan Niemi, Jaret Phillips, and Lucas Blanton each managed one hit to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils.
