Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-3 loss to New Albany Varsity Bulldogs on Tuesday. New Albany Varsity Bulldogs scored on a single by Ayanna DeLuna in the first inning and a single by Ava Brewer in the second inning. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils lost despite out-hitting New Albany Varsity Bulldogs nine to six. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Eavie Smith led things off in the circle for New Albany Varsity Bulldogs. The righty allowed four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three. Emma Borders toed the rubber for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Borders allowed six hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils had nine hits in the game. Andrea Durbin, Bethany Clarke, and Bailey Shafer all had multiple hits for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Durbin went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils in hits. New Albany Varsity Bulldogs racked up six hits in the game. Autumn Gullett and Brewer each managed multiple hits for New Albany Varsity Bulldogs.
