May 26, 2023 - The boys and girls track teams competed at the Bloomington North Regionals on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The young female Devils were led by sophomore stand out Mariah Smith. Mariah competed in 4 events, finishing 9th in the 100M dash; 8th in the long jump; 6th in the 300 hurdles and anchoring the 4x100 relay team to a 5th place finish. The 4x100 team missed qualifying for state by 23/1000 of a second. Although they will not have any representatives at next week's state meet, this young squad has a very solid foundation to build upon for the next few years. The boys finished in 3rd place overall, led by senior sprinter Jeremiah Brown. "JB" had 1st place finishes in the 100M, 200M and also anchored the 1st place 4x100 team in a time of 42.11 seconds. Joining JB at state next week, will be Lazarus Weobong with a 2nd place finish in the 110 hurdles.
