Monday, May 29 Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils snagged a late lead and defeated Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders 4-3 on Monday. The game was tied at three with Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils batting in the top of the seventh when Ethan Durbin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. In the second inning, Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders got their offense started when Zach Tripure drew a walk, scoring one run. Brett Denby was credited with the victory for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. Quinn Lemon threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bishop Letson took the loss for Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders. The righty surrendered two runs on two hits over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Coen Evrard started the game for Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders. The southpaw surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out six Caiden White started the game for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. White went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils tallied eight hits on the day. Lucas Blanton, Jaret Phillips, Denby, and Durbin all had multiple hits for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Durbin, Denby, Phillips, and Blanton each collected two hits to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils didn't commit a single error in the field. Phillips had the most chances in the field with 11. Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders collected five hits. Clayton Schroeder and Tripure each had multiple hits for Floyd Central Varsity Highlanders.
