Sophomore Nan Garcia poured in 27 points & 7 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals in leading the Lady Devils to a victory over Warren Central High School. Junior Tori Handley added 17 points including shooting 5 of 8 behind the arc. Britney Epperson also had a strong game with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, spending most of the evening guarding Central’s 6’5” Cyndi Dodd who has multiple major D1 offers. Epperson helped hold Dodd to only 8 points as Jeff did not allow any opponent scorer to reach double digits. Warren Central had won 5 of their last 6 games and play a tough Indianapolis schedule. The Lady Devils continue their strong run of late, winners of 10 of their last 11 games, the only loss being a narrow defeat at the hands of Mercer County High School which is ranked #1 in Kentucky and #10 in the nation. Other Scorers for the Lady Devils: K. James 3 (3 assists and no turnovers), C. Gibson 3 (2 assists), J. Gibson 3 (3 assists) and J. Lilly 2 (2 assists). Most impressive was that the Lady Devils had 19 assists on 24 made baskets against only 8 turnovers. Over the last two contests Jeffersonville as a team has had 37 assists on 48 made baskets. The Lady Devils don’t have much time to enjoy Saturday’s win as they return to action on Monday at home with an add-on game against 16-2 Heritage Hills High School. The Lady Devils then close out their home schedule with senior night on Tuesday night versus Scottsburg High School.
